Faisalabad customs seizes huge quantity of smuggled items during last week of April

FAISALABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized items worth Rs5,920,000 involving customs duty and taxes of Rs1,744,732 by foiling different smuggling bids during last week of April 2017 besides confiscating one vehicle worth Rs2,300,000 being used for transportation.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs I&I made three seizures in its regions including FIU Khushab, Sargodha and Sara-e-Muhajir by conducting successful operations against the smugglers.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Assistant DirectorSyed ittrat Hussain said the intelligence teams are determined to curb the smuggling in the region and there is no room for smugglers.

He said the customs is taking action against the smugglers with the cooperation of the other law enforcement agencies. He also appreciated the performance of the intelligence teams and vowed to continue such operations against the culprits.

He added that Faisalabad intelligence seized Suzuki Carry Station Wagon with registration No: WAJ-870 (Quetta), model 1995, worth Rs, 10,00,000 involving duty and taxes of Rs94,5500,  tyres (14-Nos) made in China worth Rs420000 involving duty taxes of Rs 239232.
