Faisalabad Customs seizes sulfonic acid worth Rs3m

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized 24200 kilograms of sulfonic acid worth Rs30,00,000 made in Iran near Jhang Road and also impounded vehicle.

As per details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation detained 24200 kilograms of sulfonic acid made in Iran during a raid. The sulfonic acid was loaded from Jeeway Ahmed Cargo Service Hawskbay Karachi  for Faisalabad.

Intelligence Officer Muhammad Ramzan, Irahad Ali, Muhammad Siddique, Muhammad Saleem impounded the vehicle bearing registration no: FSA-865.

Talking to Customs Today, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Ramzan (I.O) said that the smuggled acid has been detained on the absence of evidence of legal import after paying due duty. He said if the culprits have produced import documents, the bags will be released. Further investigations into the matter of alleged sulfonic acid smuggling are still under process.
