Faisalabad Excise holds 8816 token tax defaulter vehicles in 15 days

FAISALABAD: The Excise and Taxation motor registration wing traced 8,816 token tax defaulter and 1,724 unregistered vehicles during the first fifteen days of running month January, 2015.

Officials said that the excise team comprising Inspectors Nazim Khan, Amjad Iqbal and Aktar Hussain checked almost 56,804 vehicles during the road checking and caught tax defaulter vehicles. They added that the team conducted operations following the strict instructions of Excise and Taxation Officer Muhammad Afzal Goraya.

Talking to Customs Today, Goraya said that excise was working hard to recover taxes from the token tax defaulter, besides impounding the unregistered vehicles, adding that the performance of the department was improving. He said that Rs 44.66 million would be recovered after the operation that was conducted during first 15 days of the January.
