Faisalabad excise installs online kiosk at FCCI

FAISALABAD: First online kiosk machine of the Excise and Taxation Department installed at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI). It will facilitate the business community to get challan forms instantly for the payment of property tax in addition to getting other property related information.

Representing director excise and taxation Miss Fizza Shah, a team of the department along with Chaudhary Talat Mahmood chairman FCCI taxation committee and Abid Masood Secretary General FCCI got the first print of property tax from this machine. The team of excise department was consistent of Assistant Director Sajjad Hussaain, IT in-charge Imran Nazir and inspector Sheikh Mohammad Tahir Iqbal.

Chaudahry Talat Mahmood thanked the provincial minister for Excise and Taxation Hafiz Mumtaz and Director Excise Miss Fizza Shah for the installation of this latest machine which will provide online facility to the business community. Similarly, the department will also directly get the property tax without any intermediary like National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Accounts Office.

Assistant Director Sajjad Hussain told that Punjab government has allowed 5 percent concession on the payment of property tax before December 31, 2018. He urged the people to avail this unique opportunity as from fist January, 2019, the property tax will be recovered along with fine. He said that government is facilitating the tax payers with online facility and in this connection the first online excise machine has been installed in FCCI while more such machines would be installed in other public places. He said that this system will streamline the collection of dues of property tax without any unnecessary delay.

Earlier majority of people pay their property tax through various branches of NBP. These branches transfer the received amount to accounts office and from where it is provided to the department.

He said that with this on line system the department will get the amount without any delay which could also be checked from this online machine by entering the pin code.
