FAISALABAD: The anti-narcotics branch of the Excise and Taxation Department has recovered 35 liters of imported ‘Claret’ during a raid. The market value of the seized wine is Rs 170,000.
According to details, Anti-Narcotics Assistant Taxation Officer Rana Ahmed Hassan received information about smuggling of imported wine after which he formed a special team comprising Muhammad Haroon (inspector) and Muhammad Gulzar (sepoy) to recover the smuggled wine.
The team raided near Syedabad Faisalabad and seized imported wine. The Faisalabad Excise Anti narcotics Staff arrested the accused person on the spot and lodged FIR against the accused person and send behind the bars. Further investigation is under way.
