Faisalabad Excise seals 217 properties on tax default

FAISALABAD: The Excise and Taxation’s property tax branch sealed 217 properties over non-payment of tax during third week of April, 2016.

Officials said that the excise sealed 117 properties in Faisalabad, 63 in Chiniot, 27 properties in Toba Tek Singh and 10 in Jhang after taking a legal action against the tax defaulters.

The department issued several notices to owners to clear the outstanding arrears but they remained reluctant to pay the tax on which the properties were sealed, they said adding that until the clearance of the dues, the properties were not released.

Following the directions of Director Ahmad Saeed, tax recovery process has been expedited in order to meet the revenue target for current fiscal year 2015-16.
