Faisalabad Excise seals 256 properties

FAISALABAD: The Excise and Taxation Department has sealed 256 properties over non-payment of Rs 4.6 million property tax.

As per details, the excise sealed 205 properties in Faiasalabad, 38 in Chiniot, 8 properties in Toba Tek Singh and five in Jhang to recover the property tax.

Department issued several notices to owners to clear the outstanding arrears but they remained reluctant to pay the tax on which it sealed the properties until the clearance of the dues.

After sealing, the department has earned Rs 2.6 million. Officials of Excise and Taxation department have been directed to expedite the recovery process to achieve the target of the financial year 2014-15.
