Faisalabad FIA arrests accused manufacturers of spurious medicines

FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested accused involved in manufacturing and selling of spurious medicines.

Sources told Customs Today that Federal Investigation Agency’s team conducted a successful raid along with Drug Inspector at Alfateh Shopping Mall Pharmacy Kohinoor Road and sealed un-registered drugs shop namely Centrum Silver. The team recovered  huge quantity of fake and forge medicines during the raid on the above mentioned compound.\

The accused person who was identified as Muhammad Ayub failed to produce any legal documents regarding possession of above said medicines.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under Section (U/S), 23/27 against the arrested accused person, while further investigations are still underway till the filing of this report.

FIA Deputy Director Syed Imam Zaidi said that FIA authorities already enhanced their raids on the shops which are selling fake and forge medicines. He said that government directed FIA to take measures to curb selling of fake and forge medicines.
