Faisalabad I&I earns Rs14.35m through auction of vehicles & goods

FAISALABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation auction committee conducted auction of non-duty paid vehicles and other smuggled goods after the permission of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and generated revenue of Rs 14.35 million through auction process.
Deputy Director Irfan Shoukat told Customs Today that during different anti-smuggling operations the Customs I&I seized items from GT Road, Sarai Muhajir check-post, M.M Alam Road MI M2 M3 areas of Faisalabad Sargodha city and Sumandri Road and shifted the same to the State Warehouse.
Customs intelligence and investigation registered the cases of seized goods and referred these cases to the customs adjudication department for proceeding. After the conclusion of proceeding of the cases the adjudication authority announced the judgment in favor of the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation.
Deputy Director Irfan Shouqat said that various parties participated in the bid of auction but few parties offered attracted prices of miscellaneous items. The department recovered Rs1.44 million during the month of July Rs10.94 million earned in month of October. Rs1.95 million were generated during November.
The auction was held at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation office Amin Town Canal Road Faisalabad. Deputy Director Irfan Shouqat supervised the auction process. He said the auction will strengthen revenue generation measures of the directorate.
