Faisalabad I&I releases consignments after receiving evaded duties & taxes

FAISALABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation released the consignments worth Rs 5.4 million after receiving an evaded amount of duties and taxes. The said consignments were intercepted during the month of November 2018.

Sources told Customs Today that the consignments released by the Customs Intelligence consisted of foreign origin almonds worth Rs198940, foreign origin timber priced at Rs 1535346 foreign origin garments worth Rs 2043604 foreign origin computer Rs1337237 and spare parts plus Mazda truck worth Rs300722.

The abovementioned consignments were impounded by the Customs Intelligence due to evasion of customs duty of Rs 1104846, sales tax of Rs 1598784, income tax  Rs750994 and redemption fine of Rs 1337681 during the month of November 2018.

The tax evasion detected by the team comprised Intelligence Officer Saeed Hayat, Sepoys Muhammad Zeeshan Ajmal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad.
