Faisalabad I&I releases consignments after receiving taxes

FAISALABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation released consignments worth Rs34,41,356 after receiving evaded amount of duties and taxes. The said consignments were intercepted during the month of June 2019.

Sources told Customs Today that the consignments released by the I&I consisted of Bitumen worth Rs1258459, foreign origin crockery Rs628721, foreign origin ‘zeera’ worth Rs152251 and Rani juice worth Rs 974040.

The above mentioned consignments were seized by the Customs Intelligence due to evasion of customs duty worth Rs867673, sales tax Rs904798, income tax Rs457625 and penalty of Rs1211260 during June 2019.

The tax evasion was detected by a team comprising Sepoy Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, Sepoy Ajmal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad.
