Faisalabad I&I seizes items huge quantity of smuggled goods during October

FAISALABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated foreign origin goods worth Rs24,60,000 during the month of October of Fiscal Year 2018.

According to the details, the intelligence team following the directions of Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat conducted various raids to foil smuggling attempts in the region.

The Customs I&I team impounded Hino truck bearing registration No: TKW-542 Quetta and recovered red chilli 2000 kilograms.

The Customs Intelligence Field Intelligence Unit Sargodha seized  huge quantity of fresh onion 28090 kilograms allegedly smuggled by Muhammad Rashid and others and also impounded foreign origin generator 27 KVA and another generator of 22 KVA seizes from suspect namely Ali Bahadar worth Rs 250000 involving duty and taxes Rs 220000.

On the other hand, Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Sarai Muhajir seized used computer system and LCD during the said period. Accused person in this case is Muhammad Anwar Khan is resident of Sargodha.

The customs has made confiscations under Section 156(1)89 and 90 ibid read with Section 3(1) (3) of the Import and Export Control Act 1969 after the owners failed to produce any document showing the legal import of the items.

The intelligence officers, including Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir and Sepoys Ajmal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad participated in the raids.

However seizure reports have been submitted to adjudication department for further legal action.
