LAHORE: Deputy Collector Customs Saqibur Rehman Warraich has advised women entrepreneurs to register themselves with WeBOC system if they want to be successful in import and export business.
Warraich was giving a presentation at the Export Procedures and Payment Mechanism seminar held jointly by the Trade Development Authority (TDAP) and Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Lahore the other day.
Informing about various customs related procedures, he said that the women entrepreneurs should experience the latest technology introduced by the customs department to boost trade and commercial activities in the country.
He said that the department was always there to help and facilitate importers and exporters who must be aware of the export policy order and HS codes to efficiently handle their businesses and avoid fines and penalties.
Warraich said that the importers and exporters must train hand on to how export and import so that they could face least hardships in the way of smooth operations of their businesses.
He informed that always mention on document about the goods to be imported after their export with ‘export cum import’ to avoid further duty and taxes.
He customs tariffs have immense importance in the whole structure of the customs and the businesswomen must get familiar with them.
Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Shazia Sulman said that TDAP should help women entrepreneurs in their business development.
She said that TDAP should accommodate as much as it can do to take with them the businesswomen to the international trade delegation for the foreign exhibitions.
She said that businesswomen can play important role in the economic development of the country if they are supported by the government.
Trade and Development Authority of Pakistan Deputy Director Nadia Farooqi, State Bank of Pakistan’s Ms Sonal, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Patron in Chief Ms Shehla and others were also present on the occasion.
