NEW YORK: The Greater Fayetteville Chamber announced Monday new board leadership for 2016. Brian Kent, president of K3 Enterprises, will become chairman of the chamber’s board of directors beginning in January.
The new board vice chairwoman next year will be Johnny Wilson, executive director of Fayetteville Urban Ministry.
Kent, who is 47, will succeed George Breece, the outgoing board chairman who has overseen considerable change with the chamber this year.
The chamber this fall hired a new president, Rodney Anderson, who replaces Doug Peters, who has taken a similar job in Texas.
Earlier this year, the chamber announced a new name as it plans to economically separate from the Economic Development Alliance by Dec. 31.
The alliance, which receives public money to help recruit industry, will have a new board and a new name in January: Economic Development Alliance of Fayetteville and Cumberland County.
Other 2016 chamber board members are: Kitti Jo Finch, board secretary; Darsweil Rogers, board treasurer; Breece, as the immediate past chairman; Charlie Allen; Charles Broadwell; Sandy Cookman; Jim Grafstrom; Ralph Huff; Pamela Jackson; Jan Johnson; Katy Lollis; and Kimberly E. Scruton.
