FBR asks for submission of data from Collectorates of Adjudication-I&II

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asked the authorities concerned of the Collectorates of Customs Adjudication-I and II to submit the entire data of the cases during the current fiscal year 2014-15 before the competent authorities by the end of November, 2014, Customs Today learnt here on Tuesday.

The sources informed Customs that the FBR through a letter asked the competent authorities of Customs Collectorates of Adjudication-I & II to submit the entire data of the pending, decided cases, duty/taxes involved in the cases and recovery made against the ONOs during the fiscal year 2014-15. “In this regard, the ministerial staff of both the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication I and II is busy in compiling the said data for submitting before the end of the November, 2014,” sources added.

The sources further informed this scribe that asking for cases data from the FBR authorities was something an unusual practice, as the FBR authorities concerned were never asked for such type of data in the past. They further disclosed that the competent authorities of the Collectorates of Customs Adjudication-I and II have directed their subordinate staff for compiling the data on earliest basis.
