FBR asks taxpayers to update IBAN numbers to receive refunds

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asked taxpayers to update their IBAN numbers to receive sales tax refunds directly to their bank accounts.

In a notice issued on Wednesday the FBR said that it would issue payment advise to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on November 03, 2016 (Thursday) for releasing sales tax refunds.

Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on November 01 announced releasing all sales tax refunds amounting Rs25 billion within seven days.

The FBR said that sales tax claimants are required to update their 24-digit IBAN bank account numbers for direct credit of sales tax refunds.
