FBR assigns revenue collection target of Rs 218.5m to Customs in Gilgit-Baltistan

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has assigned the revenue collection target of Rs 218.5 million to the Customs authorities in Gilgit-Baltistan for the month of October 2016-17

Assistant Collector Akbar Jan told Customs Today that the Collectorate finalized its strategy for collection of revenue during the month. He said that Customs authorities will expedite their efforts for speedy examination and clearance of consignments during the month, adding that the Customs Department collected a record revenue in the history of Sust dry port during August-September 2016-17.

Akbar Jan said that during July-September 2016, GB collected Rs. 506 million customs duty against assigned target of Rs281.15 million.

Assistant collector said  that the Collectorate also collected Rs. 372 million against the target of Rs. 224 million.  He said that as far collection of all taxes is concerned, Customs GB has successfully achieved its assigned target of Rs. 597 million by collecting Rs. 1025 million (72% higher) and 86% higher than the tax collection during July-Sep 2015.
