FBR auditing Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s accounts

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue RTO-I has started auditing Rahat Fathe Ali Khan, renowned singer’s accounts to examine his expenses against his income from his concerts.

Sources said that the singer has paid 5.6 million taxes in three years from 2010 to 2013 while he usually charges millions for one concert.

When Customs Today contacted RTO-I chief Commissioner Shahfqat Mehmood for confirmation, he, expressed his ignorance of the audit of the accounts of the singer.

The chief commissioner said that his subordinates may have the knowledge of the episode. The singer for the third time has landed in tax scandal crisis. Earlier, in the previous years, the singer expressed his complete ignorance on Pakistan’s tax laws.
