ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has authorised the Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) to issue free tax numbers (FTNs).
Officials said that the step was taken to make the recovery from the government institutions and departments possible.
They added that heavy amount was struck with governmental organisations due the delay in issuance of FTNs, adding that such loopholes were creating hurdles for the FBR in tax collections.
After realising the importance of the matter, the FBR has decided to authorised the RTOs for issuance of FTNs to government institutions and departments.
On the other hand, the FBR has directed the Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) to facilitate the field formations, Inland Revenue commissioners in this regard.
