FBR cancels IRS, PCS officers’ leaves before and after Eid holidays

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has cancelled leave of all Inland Revenue Service and Pakistan Customs Service officials before and after the Eidul Azha holidays.

According to a Board’s notification, no officer/official would be granted leave immediately prior to or after the Eid holidays, declared by the government with effect from September 24 to 27.

The notifications said, “In case, any officers/officials have already been granted leave during the days, the same may be treated as cancelled.”

All heads of field formations of Inland Revenue Service/Pakistan Customs Service have been directed to ensure full attendance before and after the declared Eid holidays in the field units falling under their respective administrative controls. “Strict disciplinary action shall be taken against the officers/officials defying the instructions of the board,” it said.

The last week of September is important for Federal Board of Revenue as the revenue collection for the first quarter fiscal year 2015/2016 will be finalised.
