KARACHI: The Directorate of Reforms and Automation has sent a request to the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for reviewing the remuneration scale of the staffers working in PRAL Department of Pakistan Customs.

The reliable sources informed Customs Today that the Project Director (PD) of the Directorate of Reforms and Automation on Jan 27 made a request to the FBR chief to raise the salary package of the staffers of PRAL.

“The Project Director of Reforms and Automation has also sent a list of the PRAL staffers, who handle the indigenous computerised system (WeBOC), to the FBR chief in this regard”, sources added.

The sources further told this scribe that the PD Directorate of Reforms and Automation has taken the said step while keeping in view the plight of PRAL staffers.

It is pertinent to mention here that the upgradation process of the software and development of the modules in WeBOC have been halted due to shortage of manpower in PRAL Department, as senior staffers have left the department due to inadequate remuneration package.
