ISLAMABAD: An important meeting will be held today at the Ministry of Commerce in which presentation will be given on Professional Trade Agreements (PTA) and Free Trade Agreements (FTA) signed with different  countries in the past and to be signed in the future.

FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa will participate in the meeting and would conduct the presentation. The FBR chairman will brief the participants of the meeting about issues in the PTAs and FTAs and recommendations will also be given in the presentation which will help Pakistan to balance level of PTAs and FTAs. Pakistan has signed PTAs and FTAs with different counties including China and realised that Pakistan reaped less benefits and suffered more losses. Keeping in view these losses, the Ministry of Commerce is mulling to make amendments in these agreements so that balance of trade could be made in Pakistan’s favour and today’s presentation is being given in this regard.
