The sixth meeting of the committee was held on Monday. The meeting was chaired Finance, Revenues and Statistics Minister Ishaq Dar.

FBR and Asian Development Bank (ADB) had agreed on the detailed modalities of the project and loan negotiations had been concluded with the Bank. The Board of Directors of the Bank will consider the project within a week’s time.

The meeting was informed of the progress of land acquisition at Torkham, Chaman and Wahga for construction of border trade complexes. The steering committee desired to fast track the process of land acquisition, through consultation with all stakeholders, in a transparent manner.

The steering committee also endorsed selection of Dr. Muhammad Zubair, a BS-20 officer of Pakistan Customs Service as “project director for ITTMS Project”, through competitive process, by a four member committee.
