FBR chairman Nisar to visit Karachi next week

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan will visit Custom House Karachi and other offices next week for one day to hold meetings with the senior officers of the Customs, Inland Revenue (IR) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation, it is learnt here.

Sources told Customs Today that the chairman will discuss various issues with the officials, including revenue collection, smuggling of foreign currency and smuggling of contraband items from other parts of the country to Karachi.

Replying to a query, the sources said that senior officers of the Pakistan Customs Services (PCS), including chief collectors, directors and commissioners have already directed their staff to prepare comprehensive reports to brief the chairman.

The sources said that senior officers of the FBR, including Member Customs Nasir Masroor, Member IR, may also accompany the FBR chairman during his visit.
