FBR Chairman Tariq Pasha to preside over 2nd chief commissioner moot today

ISLAMABAD: On the directions of Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Chief Operation Inland Revenue Aftab Alam has called the chief commissioner conference at FBR House Islamabad today.

This will be 2nd chief commissioner conference and will be held under the chairman Federal Board of Revenue Tariq Pasha. Special Advisor to Prime Minister for Revenue Haroon Akhtar will also preside the 2nd session while Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar will likely to join the conference.

According to FBR sources, chief commissioner conference will review performance of the of first quarter of the current financial year of Large Taxpayers Unit, Corporate Tax Units and Regional Tax Units will be reviewed.

Member Operation Inland Revenue  Khawaja Tanveer Ahmed, Member Policy Inland Dr. Muhammad Iqbal and Member Taxpayers Audit Rehmat ullah Khan Wazir, Director General Enforcement Dr. Bashir Ullah will also attend the meeting.

Informed sources told Customs Today that despite the 20 percent increase in revenue collection during the first quarter of current financial year as compare to same corresponding period of last financial year, finance minister, SA to prime minister and chairman FBR are not satisfied because the Inland Revenue service has failed to meet the revenue target of first quarter while customs service has surpassed the revenue targets.
