KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Tariq Bajwa has visited customs house, offices of Inland Revenue Services (IRS) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) here the other day.
In his one-day visit, FBR chief held several meetings with the Chief Collectors, Collectors and directors of different wings, in which he stressed upon to broaden the tax net to achieve the revenue target of current fiscal year.
According to sources, the FBR chairman Tariq Bajwa urged the Pakistan Customs House officers to keep vigilant eye on tax evasion, mis-declaration and alleged involvement of Customs employees in corruption.
It is important to mention here that the Ministry of Finance has already set a revenue target of Rs2800 billion for FBR. However, the FBR authorities requested the Ministry of Finance to revise the revenue target and take it down at Rs27100 billion.
