FBR challenges release of three sales tax defaulters in LHC

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)  has moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) against three sales tax defaulters who were acquitted by the trial court. An Application has been submitted in The Lahore High Court by FBR against the release of three accused who were involved in tax evasion scandal.

Director FBR Muhammad Azam has submitted an application in LHC against Abdul Sabur, Khaliq Ali and Ghulam Yaseen. Trial Court had released Abdul Sabur and his colleagues on advantage of doubt. Accused were involved in tax evasion of 260.86  million Rupees. They committed a fraud by announcing thier textile mill default to avoid frm sales tax 2011. Alledgely it was a fake bankruptcy what they claimed.

Application submitted in The Lahore High Court saying that the Trial Court has acquitted these three persons on the basis of doubt, so make their acquisition nul and void. Abdul Sabur, Khaliq Ali and Ghulam Yaseen were acquitted from Trial Court in November 2014.
