FBR chief, Member Customs due in Karachi today

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Tariq Bajwa and Member Customs Nisar Muhammad Ali Khan are due to arrive in Karachi on Friday (today).

Sources in FBR informed Customs Today that the FBR chief and Member Customs will hold closed door marathon of meetings with the high-ups of Pakistan Customs over the revenue collection status as the end of the fiscal year 2013-14 is approaching.

According to the sources, the high-ups of Pakistan Customs were busy finalizing their presentations which they will present before FBR Chief and Member Customs.

Strict security arrangements have also been made in and around Customs House on the arrival of top officials. Collector of MCC Preventive Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda reviewed the security arrangements of the Customs House during his visit along with other Pakistan Customs officials.

Sources further told this scribe that the FBR chief will also visit the offices of Inland Revenue Service i.e. Large Tax Payer Units (LTUs) in order to review the revenue status of the department.
