FBR collects Rs 1,158b in six months of current fiscal year

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs 1,158 billion revenue in six months of current fiscal year. The FBR had collected Rs 1,031 billion in the same period of previous fiscal year.

In December 2014, the FBR collected Rs 255 billion taxes and duty. The board had gathered Rs 231 billion in December 2013, which is 9 percent more. Refunds decreased 65 percent. In December 2013, Rs 12.543 billion refunds were included while in December 2014 only Rs 4.434 billion refunds were included.

In December 2014, the FBR collected Rs 123.676 billion income tax while the board had collected Rs 119.048 billion in December 2013. Under the head of sales tax, Rs 92.483 billion were collected. In December 2013, Rs 90.437 billion sales tax was collected. Under the head of customs duty, Rs 25 billion were collected in December 2014.

In December 2013, Rs 23.274 billion customs duty was collected. In December 2014, Rs 13.002 federal excise duty (FED) was collected in December 2014 while Rs 11.327 billion FED had been collected in December 2013.
