SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revnue (FBR) has collected Rs 290 billion from new taxpayers until the last date of filing of tax returns through Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS).
Source told Customs Today that 2,900 non-filers submitted their tax returns in Regional Tax Offices of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Bahawalpur and Lahore.
Sources said that FBR has warned that strict action will be taken against tax defaulters that after expiry of the last date for submission of the tax returns. They said that comprehensive measures would be taken to bring them into the tax net.
