FBR collects Rs3,112b till June 15, Rs66.55b in one day

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue has collected revenue worth previous year’s target in 11 months with eight per cent growth.

The FBR collected Rs3,112 billion till June 15 of current fiscal year as compared with Rs2,796 billion it collected during the same period of financial year 2016. The Federal Board of Revenue collected record Rs66.55 billion tax on June 15th.

The checks worth Rs16 billion, which could not be cleared owing to closing of banks, have also been cashed. These checks include AGP Balochistan Rs1.40 billion, Emirates Air Rs500 million, Pepsi Co Rs2.60 billion and miscellaneous checks of Rs1.50 billion.

The FBR collected Rs1,189 billion income tax till June 15, 2017 against Rs1,060 billion income tax of the same in FY 2016. It collected Rs1248 billion sales tax during the corresponding period as compare with previous year’s Rs1239 billion. The Board collected Rs179 billion under the head of federal excise duty against the last year’s Rs173 billion FED. The FBR collected Rs460 billion customs duty till June 15 of current fiscal year (2016-17) as compared with Rs374 billion of the same period of FY 2015-16.
