FBR collects Rs490b from July 1 to August 30

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs490 billion in 61 days started from July 1 to August 30 of current Fiscal Year 2018-19, it is learnt here.

According to official sources, the revenue collected in 61 days of current years is all time record where the board has collected revenue of Rs430 billion in same time period of previous FY 2017-18. Sources added that it is 12% extra than the previous year even there was an almost 10 days of Eid holidays which also affected the revenue collection.

Sources added that the revenue is also considered as all time record because the board has exempted citizens having Rs1.2 million of yearly income which was Rs400,000 for the previous years.

Sources further said that the revenue collected of Rs490 billion for the current fiscal year 2018-19 is also got affected because of Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered not to collect taxes on cellular services, while it could add around Rs7 billion per month if it was allowed to collect the taxes on cellular services.
