FBR completes probe into corruption in Vehicles’ Amnesty Scheme

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has completed its vigorous probe into a big financial scam and departmental irregularities in Vehicles’ Amnesty Scheme allegedly committed by the local FBR and Sialkot Customs officials.

Sources told Customs Today that the FBR has terminated Superintendent Customs Sialkot Waqar Ahmed Cheema and Inspector Customs Muhammad Javaid in the light of this inquiry report, while four customs inspectors, Akmal Hussain Shah, Mirza Imran Baig, Shafqat Zaman and Asad Mehmood (deputed at Customs Collectorate Sialkot), have been sent on compulsory retirement due to their negligence in the matter.
