FBR considering amendment in clauses of Alternative Dispute Resolution

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is working to frame the clauses regarding Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) committee in legal language, it is learnt here.

Official sources told Customs Today that the present Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is different and sophisticated from the earlier one as its decision will be binding on both FBR and the taxpayers.

However, last month Senate Standing Committee on Finance directed FBR to frame the clauses regarding Alternative Dispute Resolution in legal language and present it to the committee again.

It is important to mention here that ADR is a mechanism that was made by FBR for the redressal of public grievances regarding Income Tax, under the provision of Section 134-A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 and Rule 231 C of the Income Tax Rules, 2002.
