ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) authorities are serious considering to implement effective measures to safeguard Afghan Transit Trade.
Sources told Customs Today that FBR considering to provide same company’s SIMs to drivers of containers whose trackers are already installed in the containers. FBR will direct the transporters to provide new SIMs of the company to drivers. The FBR authorities are confident that after the implementation of such measure they will be able to control the smuggling through Afghan Transit Trade and will curb pilferage.
Sources said that FBR will register the name of company whose SIM and Tracker will be used in the containers. The authorities will also be able to determine actual whereabouts and route of the containers. This proposal is in its primary stage nowadays and FBR authorities are giving final touches to it before submission it for final approval.
