FBR decides to establish new field formations to expand tax net

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to further expand its network across the country, it is learnt here.

Official sources told Customs Today that the board has decided to further expand its field formations network and establish seven new Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), three new Large Taxpayers Units (LTUs) and 18 Inland Revenue (IR) offices across the country and also planned to expand its network of field formations to newly merged Tribal Districts of KP and Gilgit-Baltistan, sources confirmed.

Sources also told that the board is preparing PC-1 so it advised the field formations to provide their feedback and suggestions for the locations, human resources requirements and other related details within the due time.

Sources also added that the board has also directed the Inland Revenue Department that under the second phase of this program, the board will expand its field formations network to Tribal Districts of KP and Gilgit-Baltistan till 2022; however, the IR department must conduct survey and examine the legal aspects and provide the suggestions and recommendations within the due time.
