FBR decides to establish vigilant wing to eradicate corruption

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to establish Vigilant Wing to eradicate corruption within the board, it is learnt here.

According to official sources, the vigilant wing of FBR will investigate and inquire against the employees and official of FBR who are involved in corruption or have some complaints of corruption.

Sources added that the vigilant wing will also give report to the chairman FBR and will recommend the well character official to be appointed on the top management of the board.

Meanwhile, the proposed vigilant wing will also trace the assets and properties of the officials of FBR and if someone has assets or properties beyond his/her source of income, the wing will start secret inquiry against the official and formal departmental inquiry will be started upon having involvement in any type of corruption sources confirmed.

It is also important to mention here, that establishing of National Intelligence and Risk Management Function is also on the card under the board reforms while vigilant wing will be a separate body having authority to establish inquiry against the official involved or having complaints of corruption within the board.
