FBR delegation to visit Germany on June 23 to get OECD membership

ISLAMABAD: A two-member delegation of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will visit Germany on June 23.  During their stay, the delegation will discuss the process to get membership of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Sources told Customs Today that after getting membership of the OECD, Pakistan will able to get assessment of Pakistanis who operates bank accounts in Switzerland. Sources said that prior to this, Pakistani authorities already held two or three rounds of talks. There are 34 countries, include US and Britain, are members of the OECD.

According to sources after becoming member all other countries will also establish their banking branches in Pakistan and Pakistan will also bound to provide all relevant information to these countries.

It is necessary to mention here that apart from Pakistan, India and China are also holding talks to get membership of OECD. During their stay in Germany the FBR delegation will also submit some required documents to OECD.
