FBR directs all collectorates to speed up process of tax collection

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed all collectorates of the country to speed up process of tax collection. On the other hand, the FBR authorities have tightened its rope around tax defaulters.

Sources told Customs Today that recently FBR detected some 22 fake companies which successfully received millions of rupees through sales tax refunds and input adjustments. Among those companies are Rameez Textile, Sadaf Textile, Unique Fabrics, Aniq and Co Fabrics, Shamim Latha, Waheeda B Fabrics etc. Sources said that tax staff registered these companies without confirmation their registered postal address. Among these companies 17 are located in Sher Shah, 5 in Bara Board and others in Jahangir Road.

Sources also disclosed that that each company gets a refund of around Rs 3 million. FBR sources said they will cancelled the registration of all these companies during couple of days.
