FBR also directed to the field offices to obey the orders of courts because non-implementation of decision of the apex court resulting in blockage of revenue.

Federal Board of Revenue observed that legal matters were not properly managed by the field formations as legal cases of billions of rupees are pending.

The cases were piling up due to insufficient knowledge of personal dealing with or lack of coordination between the field formations.

In most cases, references and appeals were filed by the field offices which carry either no question of law, without fulfilling the formalities and disobeying the orders of the apex court or directives of the Federal Board of Revenue.

Resultantly, unfavorable decisions were passed by legal fora. FBR also directed to the field formations for strict compliance of the SOPs.
