FBR does not have authentic data of non-taxpayers: Tariq Bajwa

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) does not have any authentic and verified data of non-taxpayers.

This was stated by Chairman FBR Tariq Bajwa during a question-answer session at a programme organized by KCCI with the theme of “My Karachi, the oasis of harmony” at a local hotel on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Bajwa informed that FBR has collected the land transaction records/data of last three years from the provincial governments of Sindh and Punjab.

“At least 40,000 notices have also been issued to the persons concerned in this regard”, Bajwa added.

Replying to a question, Chairman FBR said that the rebate claims of a number of customers till November 2013 have been settled by the officials, adding that all-out efforts are being made in connection with the settlement of rebate payments by the FBR officials.
