FBR employees union condemns attack on guards in Karachi RTO

FAISALABAD: Federal Revenue Alliance Employees Union CBA-FBR has strongly condemned fatal attack on two FBR guards in Karachi.

The Union’s General Secretary, Choudhary Amjad Latif, and others expressed grief over the sad demise of RTO officials Tanzeem and Faqeer, who were killed in a terrorist attack on Monday.

In a statement, Amjad Latif said that it is an attempt to create panic in only revenue generation arm of the federal government. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss. He said during the attack, the martyred guards tried to retaliate but could not fire back due to old weapons. He also urged the government to take strong measures in eradicating the menace of terrorism.

The general secretary said that they were working at the FBR office for the last 15 years. There were many loopholes regarding the security of the building that have been highlighted before the persons concern but in vain.

He said that such acts of terrorism took a heavy toll on business and investment activities in the country. “Therefore, a comprehensive solution to the issue is need of the hour to put the economy on the path to sustainable growth. We should show solidarity and unity in our ranks to fight against terrorism,” he added.
