FBR establishes help desk for facilitation of sales tax refunds to exporters

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) has established help desk for resolving grievances of exporters for expeditious processing of Sales tax refunds claims through faster system.

The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office has nominated BS-18 official for processing of Sales tax refunds claims for the facilitation. Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Nadeem Ahmad has been appointed focal person for the Regional Tax Office and he will address day-to-day queries.

In order to expedite the refund process, The Federal Board of Revenue has introduced the Fully Automated Sales Tax -Refund (FASTER) System, which would process refund applications without human interaction and expedite the refund process of Sales tax refunds and issues relating to the Annex-H.

Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has also directed Federal Board of Revenue to issue sales tax refunds of exporters as soon as possible by facilitating them.

As many as Rs25 billions of Multan based exporters has been stuck in the sales tax refunds and they complained to FTO for immediate action.

The FBR had taken the decision keeping in view serious problems being faced business community in timely filing of Annex-H (stock statement) of sales tax returns.
