FBR exemptions tax on solar panels import

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allowed exemptions and concessions on import of solar panels by deleting it from the list of locally manufactured items.

The FBR issued Customs General Order (CGO) on Tuesday regarding ‘List of Locally Manufactured Goods/Items for the Purpose of Concessionary Notifications’. It said that Photovoltaic Modules (Solar Panels) PCT 8541.4000 with or without the related components, appearing at the S.No. 1016 in the list of locally manufactured goods notified Vide CGO 02/2017 dated April 19, 2017 shall be treated as not locally manufactured for the purpose of all the exemptions/concession till June 30, 2018.
