FBR exempts sales tax on import of scanners for ANF

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has granted sales tax exemption on the import of three body scanner, donated by Saudi Arabia for the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

According to SRO.643(I)/2016 issued by the FBR, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (2) section 13 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the federal government has exempted whole of sales tax chargeable on import of three sets of Braun-i-Scan Body

Scanners-Dual View, Model BRAU1950, were received by the ANF’s Narcotics Control Division as donation from Saudi Arabia. This is subject to the condition that the goods shall be used exclusively for the purpose for which these are imported and that the same shall not be disposed of in any way without explicit approval of the FBR.
