ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has decided to extend the date for filing of income tax returns till November 21.

Taxpayers from across the country were facing problems in filing their tax returns due to which a number of associations including FPPCI, KCCI, KTBA, PTBA, LCCI, ICCI, Pakistan Tax Advisors Association, All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran and various other Trade Bodies and Business Associations approached FBR requesting extension in return filing date to facilitate the taxpayers and business community.

After taking stock of the situation, FBR has decided to extend the date of filing of tax returns which is expected to be further extended till December 31. It is pertinent to mention here that Customs Today had reported first of all that FBR would extend the tax returns filing date for two weeks.

Customs Today raised the issue first of all few days ago in which it demanded of the FBR to extend the tax returns filing date till December 31 because due to a number of reasons taxpayers were facing difficulties to file their returns.

Due to advent of Muharram-ul-Haram a number of taxpayers are busy in observing their religious rites starting from the last week of October, 2014. FBR’s slow web portal is also causing difficulties for taxpayers so the Board should further extend the day of filing till Dec 31.
