ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) extended the date for filing income tax returns for individuals and companies till October 31.
The news was announced by newly appointed Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar during his maiden press conference in Islamabad.
During the press conference, he revealed that the tax collection body has received Rs685 billion in tax returns during the month of September.
It was also learnt that in the first quarter (July – September) of the fiscal year 2022-23, the FBR has collected Rs1,609 billion — more than the targeted amount.
Meanwhile, Rs84 billion refunds have been issued so far.
The decision has been taken keeping in view the demand of the business community.
During the press conference, the finance minister also announced the price of petroleum products for the next fortnight.
