ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for Tax Year 2026 by another 15 days, allowing taxpayers to submit their returns until October 31, 2026.

According to sources, the decision was made in response to requests from business organisations and tax bar associations seeking additional time for taxpayers to complete the filing process. An official notification has also been issued in this regard.

This is the second extension granted by the FBR for filing income tax returns for the current tax year. The move is aimed at facilitating taxpayers who were unable to submit their returns within the previously stipulated deadline due to various reasons.

The extension follows repeated demands from business representatives and tax professionals for additional time to complete the filing process.

The FBR has advised taxpayers to submit their income tax returns before the revised deadline of October 31 to avoid last-minute difficulties and ensure timely compliance with tax regulations.
