LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) referred the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) a letter on Thursday that all field offices will remain open and observe extended working hours till 8pm on December 30, 2017 and till 10pm on December 31, 2017 for collection of duty/taxes.
The notification was sent to Chief Collector (CC) of Customs Appraisement/Enforcement South Karachi, Chief Collector of Customs (Central Lahore, North Islamabad), Collector MCCs Appraisement-West/East/Exports-Customs House/Export-Post Qasim/Preventive/Port Qasim Karachi, Collector MCCs Islamabad/Sambrial Multan (Appraisement and Preventive Lahore, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Quetta, Peshawar, Gwadar, Gilgit Baltistan) and Director Reforms and Automation Custom House Karachi.
It is said that the Chief Collectors of Customs are requested to liaise with the SBP, National Bank of Pakistan and other scheduled commercial banks in their jurisdiction to ensure the transfer of taxes collected by these branches to the respective officers of the SBP on the same date and to account the same toward collection for the month of December 2017.
