FBR finds 458 persons involved in smuggling and tax evasion

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) intelligence and investigation detected 458 persons who have gone on 320 foreign tours during 365 days of 2015.

Customs intelligence termed this situation alarming as lower staff is also involved in this wrongdoing.

After investigation it was revealed that these persons have been used by some big tax defaulters for importing and exporting high value items showing their own possession while on the other hand they were actually transporting their smuggled items worth millions.

Customs official said it is an alarming situation as some of the lower staff is also involved in this. Customs intelligence has started further investigation to curb smuggling and catch the culprits.
